Optimizing Your LitterMaid
 LitterMaid is a great product, but it does have some drawbacks: the LitterMaid waste receptacle is small and you must empty it every few days to avoid litter odor; the unit is fragile in several ways, leading to a broken LitterMaid and unhappy cats; Littermaid receptacles are expensive and, especially for multiple-cat households (the best kind), you use up receptacles very quickly.
In these pages, I'll show you how to improve your LitterMaid. With 20 minutes of up-front work you'll gain these benefits:
- dispose of used litter only once per month;
- never purchase another expensive, throw-away LitterMaid waste receptacle;
- eliminate litter odor;
- never come in contact with used litter;
- have happy cats, with a smooth-running LitterMaid and clean raked litter for them every time.
At the end, I'll describe some common LitterMaid problems, and ways to repair them or avoid them completely.
I'll be talking about the LitterMaid Mega (LM900-series) here because I'm most familiar with upgrading and repairing that version, but the ideas should apply just as well to the smaller (LM500-series) models.
