Broken Hinge - LitterMaid Repair

The hinges for the waste receptacle lid on LitterMaid are quite fragile and will eventually break. This isn't fatal for the LitterMaid, but will lead to odor from uncovered used litter.

To fix this, use epoxy resin. So that the problem doesn't happen again, reinforce the hinge with 1mm-by-1mm-by-10mm offcuts of plastic, glued to each side of the break-point. Be sure that the glued plastic does not obstruct the motion of the lid. If it does, just wait for the eposy resin to cure fully, then use a craft knife to carefully trim the plastic and epoxy joint.
