Stuck Lid - LitterMaid Repair

The hinged lid that covers the LitterMaid waste receptacle can become stuck, so that it does not return down to the closed position by itself. This seems to have been redesigned in currently available LitterMaid units, but was pretty common with the older models.

The solution is simple:

• Gently move the lid up and down, noting the regions that are catching and that are preventing gravity from closing the lid.
• Using a craft knife, carefully trim excess plastic from these regions. Safety Note - remember always to cut away from yourself so that, if the blade slips you will not be injured.
