Hello again all! There has been plenty of activity on RetroGuard recently, resulting in the release of RetroGuard-v2.0.1 last Friday, February 4th. Some of the new features in this major upgrade are listed below. We also have a new licensing model for RetroGuard.

New Features in RetroGuard-v2.0.1

• Automatic handling of Class.forName("MyClass") and MyClass.class;
• Includes Apache Ant tasks for RetroGuard, RGconv, and RGpatch;
• Improved script wildcards - Ant-style **-wildcard to match all sub-packages;
• One line options to handle applications, serialization, RMI, and applets;
• Supports JDK5 Annotations, Enumerations, Generics, and EnclosingMethod.

Dual Licensing

With the upgrade to RetroGuard-v2 comes a new licensing format: dual licensing.

• For non-commercial users, a GPL (GNU General Public License) version of RetroGuard is available. This is also useful to commercial users as an evaluation copy.
• For commercial users, a commercial license and support agreement is available, currently priced at US$139/year. This license provides commercial support for RetroGuard and assures a standard of performance for the software.

Whichever license you select, you'll be working with the same RetroGuard software, and will experience the efficiency and reliability you've come to expect from RetroGuard since its first release almost seven years ago.

A prior version, RetroGuard-v1.1.16, will remain licensed under the LGPL (GNU Lesser General Public License) and will continue to be available from the Retrologic website, but will no longer be updated or otherwise supported.
